Pitcher and Catcher~ These represent the short term memory, pitcher and catcher have a only second to make up there on mind on pitches to throw and how to react to different situations.                      (Randy Johnson & Jorge Posada)

Infielders~ The infielders represent prior knowledge, they align themselves in the infield according to what the opponent has done in the past. They are also represent sensory memory because they need to perceive and recognize pitch count, pitch location, situation of the game, hitter, base runners, and most importantly the score.             (Alex Rodriguez, Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Jason Giambi)

Outfielders~ The outfielders represent encoding, they use their short term memory to track the ball from the pitchers hand to the hitters bat. They then have to use their long term memory to track the ball from the hitters bat to their glove.                                                                  (Hideki Matsui, Johnny Damon, Gary Sheffield)

Fans~ The fans represent retrieval because they remember their favorite players and events that have happened to them. They later recall the experience they had at the ballpark.                                         (Wonderful New Yorkers)
