Artifact 1

House Bills Question to Dr. Melmer

Artifact 2

Dakota Step Email Exchange with Dr. Melmer

In today’s world of fast information people want to know things instantly. Being able to communicate effectively and efficiently is ever more important for a teacher. Being able to communicate with fellow faculty, administrators, parents, and other people in the educational world is very important. With the technologies of computers, hand held’s, and black berries I have allowed me to communicate effectively with many people in the educational world.

Artifact 1:

This artifact is an email exchange that I had with Dr. Rick Melmer Secretary of Education for the State of South Dakota. I was looking for some clarification with the legal lingo that was filling the house bills. This was in regards to an assignment for school law. Having the assess to quick communication and be able to communicate with someone that can give clear clarification proves that I can communicate in an effective manner.

Artifact 2:

Approaching the high stakes testing our school was having some trouble with some parts of the Science section of the Dakota Step Test. Questions that our principal could not get answered from people like why does fifth grade have all the science, what consideration was taken to make their test longer, and what importance was the Science going to play. Not being able to get the answers she was looking for, I thought I would use my resources and email Dr. Melmer to get some insight on that part of the test. With my principal not being able to get answers from her resources, my ability to email and get the answers needed to help our school with the high stakes testing proves my ability to communicate effectively.
