Artifact 2

Curriculum of Place

Teachers need to have a plan or method of how their curriculum will meet the standards and needs of their students. Having the curriculum aligned with the standards is essential for the teacher and school district. Having this taken care of the teachers know exactly what has been taught, what needs to be taught, and what will be taught. Having this kind of plan intact will allow everyone to teach was it needed. Having been involved in curriculum maps and now following those maps it gives me as an educator a sense of awareness of where we need to go and how to get there.

Artifact 1:

The curriculum text project give a variety of strategies to use to teach multidisciplinary lessons. Being able to incorporate multiple subjects into one lesson or one project is very effective for teachers. Having limited time for subjects being able to teach them both during the same lesson is very efficient. Having these strategies allows me as the teacher to go more in-depth in some curricular needs of my students.

Artifact 2:

The curriculum of place project is a true project of the curricular process. To involve the students, teachers, entire school, and community it is certainly a process of the curriculum and community. This project is one that helps the community by raising the awareness of seat belt safety as well as holds the students accountable to many different curricular areas. This projects incorporates many different subjects areas to one project. By doing this in a project sense students take ownership into the project and don't have to focus on doing particular subjects just the different tasks to complete the project.
